THE VOLUNTEER PROJECT IN ASIA - IN THE PHILIPPINES

The volunteer project in the PHILIPPINES supports the poorest community in the Pangasinan region, near San Carlos City, with targeted interventions aimed at strengthening the capacity of adults and children to work for their personal and community development.

As a volunteer you can take part in the activities of a Catholic mission that aims to support the community and create a link between the street, families and existing local structures (hospitals, schools, town halls…) by taking part in the following areas of intervention:

Community Development

Many concrete actions are carried out for the community and can make a difference.

The association’s main activity consists of daily visits to surrounding homes, offering moral support to families, helping when necessary with basic needs, or simply spending time together and spending unforgettable moments with the many children and young people who will be delighted by your presence. In addition, the shelter is always open for all children, young people and families in the suburb.

null

Teaching

Volunteers can spend time with the children on a voluntary basis by organising English lessons in schools or directly to those who request it in the various homes.
null

Sport

You can organise tournaments and sports activities yourself. Sport is the means to achieve objectives of educational, social, training and integration value.

In the Philippines, basketball is a real cult, and volleyball is also very popular. The beneficiaries will be happy to see you playing with them, participating in tournaments with local teams.

Horticulture and Farming

You will also be able to participate in horticulture activities and learn new skills on how to grow and prepare your own food.

In addition, the construction of a pedagogical farm is nearing completion. You will benefit by allowing the children to learn how to handle animals in the best possible way and giving you the opportunity to learn too!

VOLUNTEER QUOTES

“Today I am celebrating my second month since arriving in the Philippines, a country that smells of humanity, but unfortunately also of tremendous inequality, and which, in its chaotic nature, exudes a hint of profound loneliness. Living as a missionary is certainly stimulating, sometimes nerve-wracking, because you would like to solve all the problems you encounter, and certainly tiring, but in the end, when you stop to think, things are perhaps much simpler than that, and often a glance is enough to explain them. ”
