“One of the most beautiful aspects of the volunteering experience in the Philippines was starting the journey alone and finding a family on the other side of the world. From the very beginning, the warmth of Filipino culture amazed us, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in this adventure. Here, we got to know each other and formed a deep friendship among ourselves and with the people we had the opportunity to meet.

In just a few weeks, we witnessed the existence of a universal language that goes beyond words and represents an intrinsic part of being human. We saw firsthand how people cope with poverty, and from them, we learned an important lesson: Mairap so bilay balet bali-bali (life is hard but beautiful).”
