Le consuguenze della pandemia:
Anche la situazione in Nepal è difficile. Questo è quello che ci ha raccontato Linda, coordinatrice locale: “In the meantime Nepal coronavirus spread is on the rise, but the country is slowly opening up again from the lockdown, since it’s impossible to continue the lock down if people don’t have access to food and medical services! Hunger and other diseases together with difficulties reaching medical services in the rural areas is a serious danger now. The government is responding chaotically and focus is gone”.
Fra le diverse problematiche emerse in Nepal c’è senza dubbio la mancanza di sostentamenti per lavorare e continuare a vivere. Linda ci racconta: “At the moment Nepal is closed, our projects are closed and we are in survival mode. We keep paying costs of the rent and teachers salaries, but schools are closed, the women center is closed and the center for children with disabilities is closed. My colleagues have closed the office for now and are focusing on keeping their families going with the little money we have. We are holding our breath for what is to come and we focus on fundraising from previous volunteers to keep paying the costs and at least be able to open the projects when all this is over. I fear here in Nepal the worst is not over yet… as businesses are now collapsing and Nepali migrants are coming back from abroad”.
Le condizioni sanitarie in Nepal sono in miglioramento e per questo i partner si stanno preparando ad accogliere i futuri volontari dal mese di Gennaio 2021. Le partenze per i progetti di volontariato internazionale con YearOut inizieranno da Gennaio 2021, ma le iscrizioni sono già aperte!
Come volontario in Nepal potrai lavorare in ambito scolastico, insegnare in monastero ai piccoli monaci buddisti, migliorare le condizioni di vita delle donne nel centro a loro dedicato e collaborare con lo staff locale nel centro che ospita ragazzi con disabilità.
